🗞️ News

Sam Altman rejoins OpenAI’s board

Sam Altman is rejoining the board of directors of OpenAI after an internal investigation found he was fit to continue leading the company.

Three new board members were also added: Sue Desmond-Hellmann, former CEO of the Gates Foundation; Nicole Seligman, former Sony executive; and Fidji Simo, CEO of Instacart. The board also announced new governance measures around whistleblowing and conflicts of interest.

Gemini’s new update

Google has released an update to its AI chatbot Gemini that aims to give users more control over the chatbot's responses.

The new update allows users to highlight specific sections of Gemini's responses and then modify them by shortening, lengthening, removing, or adding additional prompts to the highlighted text.

China’s version of Sora

A team of researchers and AI experts in China are collaborating to develop their own version of OpenAI's Sora. Called Open-Sora, their goal is to "reproduce OpenAI's video generation model" with an open-source codebase.

So far, they have successfully generated video samples of varying aspects and durations using a three-part framework. The team plans to continue improving the resolution, and duration, and adding additional conditions to their model.

That’s all.

Stay curious, leaders!
