Microsoft presented its version of OpenAI's DALL-E image generation tool to the US Department of Defense.

The presentation proposed using DALL-E to generate images that could train military battle management systems. While OpenAI has policies against using its tools for harm, Microsoft does not have the same restrictions as it partners with the military.

Meta’s fastest chip

Meta's new AI chips, MTIA (Meta Training and Inference Accelerator), are designed to train and run Meta's AI models like their ranking and recommendation algorithms more efficiently.

The next generation MTIA chip, currently in production, provides over 3x faster performance than the first version across several models tested by Meta.

Amazon’s board of directors

Amazon has made significant changes to its board of directors that provide insight into its strategic priorities. It added Andrew Ng, a renowned AI researcher, suggesting it wants to strengthen its leadership and innovation in artificial intelligence.

Andrew has extensive experience building and applying AI at companies like Google, Baidu, and his own startups.
